A Dream Kitchen for Staying Home Forever: A Beautiful Two-Tone Transformation

Now we look at our project in Concord, Massachusetts. We are showcasing a recent kitchen renovation we completed for an older couple who desired an upgrade to their outdated kitchen. At Wayside Kitchens we specialize in creating dream kitchens for our clients and that is what this wonderful couple got from us.

What we found:

The old kitchen we removed had been updated as part of an addition that was done to the home a while back. The old cabinets were of lower quality and were showing wear and tear in many areas. The clients were interested in re-facing the old kitchen, but after having a consultation with us decided that they wanted so much more from the remodel this time around. The cooktop was in the island and the kitchen space was enlarged by knocking down the wall between the dining room and the kitchen. The old kitchen didn’t merge the two spaces smoothly, so the kitchen felt like it didn’t fit the space. It was time for our team to roll up our sleeves and get to work to transform this 1953 Cape style home into the fitting new kitchen that our clients could love for a long while.

What we Did:

We re-designed the kitchen space to maximize storage and ended up relocating the cooktop from the island to an outside wall for better functionality. The new cooktop location allowed for the vent hood to be ducted directly to the outside rather than using the inefficient downdraft vent system. We relocated the wall oven and microwave to be closer to the sink area to keep everything closer to the cook.

We used beautiful inset Shiloh Cabinets and added crown molding & light rail to complete the look. The simple Greensboro doors and drawer fronts keep the look simple and mixing the Eggshell paint color with the Clary Sage green island keeps this kitchen looking beautiful and timeless. The homeowners gained plenty of storage and a modern kitchen with all the soft close features as well as new appliances.

They opted for the easy to maintain Silestone Quartz countertop and full backsplash that perfectly complements their two-tone kitchen look. Durable natural oak wood floors add warmth and the ideal finishing touch to this stunning new kitchen.

Our clients wanted to remodel the kitchen to finally live in a space that best fit their lifestyle. The client’s charming granddaughter is welcomed at their house, keeping them busy and entertained. We sure can imagine great memories being created at the large island which is perfect for those lazy family days of just being family. Our clients finally had the kitchen they had been dreaming of for so long!!
