Our team at Wayside Kitchens knocked down walls and relocated the kitchen to create the prefect layout that is both functional and beautiful. The vibrant, coastal theme brings the feel of the ocean right into the heart of the home.
What we found:The old kitchen we removed had been updated before 2003 when the current owners purchased this 1978 colonial style home. The old kitchen appeared to have been updated as part of the addition of a breakfast nook that had large windows, but the kitchen was in the center of the house and the footprint was rather small. The kitty-corner range was not functional for a couple who love to bake and cook. As the homeowners embrace their empty nester stage in their lives, they now have time to enjoy cooking more.
We redesigned the back of the house. Relocated the kitchen into the dining room space to place it on an outside wall and relocated the dining room to the old sitting area. A three-season porch was converted into an all-season part of the house-sitting room. All new hardwood floors were installed in the remodeled areas to unify the spaces. From the moment you walk into this updated space, the beautiful two-tone cabinets in Polar White for the perimeter and Niebla Azul island cabinets by Shiloh Cabinetry with the inset doors and drawers, amenities like soft-close doors and drawers, multiple storage organizing solutions down to the mixer shelf in the island for easy use. One immediately notices the stunning Opal White Dolomite Marble on the countertops and the white ceramic tile backsplash. The spacious island with lost of storage, the space for the microwave drawer, bookcases on either end and ample seating for 4. The island now acts as the focal point of the room, offering plenty of space for meal prep and seating for entertaining friends and family.
This remodel not only provides the homeowners with a new and improved cooking and baking space, but also adds incredible resale value to the property (if they ever decide to sell).
